It's a good time to call it a day. El cultofsteve.org es no mas...at least in this form and at this time. I need to move a bit more incognito and a bit more...well, incognito.
I'll keep the
photo feed going but I'm going to start a more regular journal elsewhere. If you'll find me, you'll find me...if you don't, you won't.
Thank you to the some 14,000 odd visitors, friends and randoms.
East side till you die muthafucka...peace out.

Finally back in business here..technical difficulties. Evidently my video card fried. ATI shite.
So, spring (or autumn) has sprung in NYC. May 25 and still not a day in the 80's. Pretty cool. Right...
You all have probably heard about myspace.com. Much like everything in life, I have come to myspace.com about six months after the rest of the civilized world. Anticipating a hearty "fuck you!" from my jr+sons bandmates, our myspace space kicks our regular website's ass. Check it, you be the judge...
www.myspace.com/juniorandsons. Shiny Around the Edges also has a nice myspace. Check
it.
Today I saw Cal
Ripken, Jr. and his wife piling into the backside of Penn Station making quick time to the 1:05 Metroliner. Cal's huge.
The wife and I were also nearly run down crossing First Ave. at 6th Street (curry fix, you know) by this
dork on a skateboard. "Who dat? That guy?!?"

Recent celebrity sighting:
Eliot Spitzer taking a run with two little dogs by 5th Ave. and 79th street in NYPD baseball hat, sweatshirt and sweatpants. Dude, don't you need some security or something? And if not, maybe play down the NYPD crest a bit. Those dogs are cute and all but I don't think the Gambino's would have a problem.

This past weekend in Chicago I walked into a Starbucks at about 6:30am hoping to set-up shop, snag their wifi and throw back a couple of their lovely $4 cups of stress. Meanwhile, Starbucks in Chicago (this one anyway) is like the senior citizens hook-up joint. Not a seat in the place and all sorts of people standing around talking about fiber. So I proceed to the counter, order my stress and crumpet, pay my $9 and proceed to the sucrose and lactate stand. I've got
Lonesome Crowded West blaring and don't notice that everyone is trying to get my attention. Next thing I know some old dude grabs my arm and screams "HEY YOU PAID FOR MY COFFEE!". I remove an ol' earbud and look to see everyone staring me down. "No worries, man, coffee's on me...my good deed for the day!" The dude won't have it and insists I take his $2.68 cents...he counted every penny while everyone looked on. Whatever, try to do somebody a favor and all you get is embarrassed. So much for my good deed.
Fast forward 6:45pm...I'd just downed my
requisite road curry and decide to walk it off with a stogey down on the lake front. Next thing you know I've got this crack head freak beggar following me for BLOCKS AND BLOCKS begging to shine my shoes. Why me?? Who fucking knows but this dude decided that my shoes were the ones he was gonna shine and distance no matter. Why can't the homeless of the world follow the NYC model and just lay there and beg? Seriously... After a nice hike (15-20 blocks) I let the guy shine my shoes...I gave him $20 and a mile worth of exercise. Good deed fulfilled after all.
